Setting up the GUI Walllet

  • Credits are to Foxi3 - for writing the original version. This has been ported from PDF to our knowledgebase.

Getting Started

Step 1) Windows GUI Wallet can be downloaded from uPlexa official GitHub - https://github.com/uPlexa/uplexa-gui/releases. As of revision of this how-to guides, the current revision of GUI Wallet is v0.1.2

Step 2) Extract uplexa-gui-win64-v0.1.2.zip to location of your choice. Once you have extracted the .zip file, you can run the GUI Wallet by running uplexa-wallet-gui.exe
NOTE: On Mac or Linux, run uplexa-wallet-gui

Step 3) Once you run the GUI Wallet, you will be greeted with the Welcome Page of the GUI Wallet. Please kindly select the preference language for the GUI Wallet.

Creating a Wallet

Step 4) If this the first time you are creating new uPlexa Wallet, please select “Create a new wallet”. To restore your existing wallet, please go to Step 9 or Step 10

Step 5) Please give your wallet a name, and please TAKE NOTE and COPY the 25-Mnemonic Word Seed to somewhere safe. Please remember that anyone can restore and use your wallet if they have your 25-Mnemonic Word Seed.

Step 6) Please set a strong password for your GUI Wallet. If you lost/forget your password, you will not be able to open your GUI Wallet, but you still can restore your wallet using 25-Mnemonic Word Seed.

Step 7) On this page you will be able to set-up your local node or connect to remote node. For the sake of simplicity, you can connect to remote node for now. If the column is not automatically fill in, please follow the remote node address and port as shown in the below image.

Step 8) Now you are all set up to use uPlexa GUI Wallet. Click on “USE UPLEXA” button to start using your GUI Wallet.


Restoring Your Wallet

Step 9) Restore your existing wallet using 25-Word Mnemonic Seed - Next step is Step 6, 7, 8

Step 10) Restore your existing wallet using Private Keys (View & Spend Key) – Next step is Step 6, 7, 8


Step 11) Now, allow for the wallet to sync. This may take a few minutes. Once fully synchronized, your balance will be shown.
